ART REQUIREMENTS/FORMATS - CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED

Artwork is either customer-supplied, created by EMBROIDERY & SCREEN PRINTING NETWORK, or a combination of the two. When customers supply artwork for screen printing, ASI or embroidery orders it can be in a few different formats. We categorize artwork as either Vector art or Photorealistic/Pixel art. The following describes what formats are acceptable.

VECTOR ART:

Vector artwork is a design that is created in vector-based programs such as:

- Adobe Illustrator (9.0 or lower) - Corel Draw (12.0 or lower)
file extensions for vector files are typically: .ai, .eps and .cdr

When supplying a vector file convert to curves or create outlines for all text. Artwork can also be supplied to us from programs such as Microsoft Word and Power Point. When supplying artwork from one of these programs it is important also to send the individual pictures and clipart in their original format as these images cannot be used once they are saved in Powerpoint, Word, etc. . Sending us the design in Powerpoint, Word or similar programs enables us to see the final design that is desired while it has its limitations.

PHOTOREALISTIC OR PIXEL ART:

This type of artwork incorporates scanned in imagery, photos or is created in a pixel-based program such as:

- Photoshop (7.0 or lower)
file extensions include: .psd, .tif, .jpeg, and .gif

These files should have a DPI of 300 or greater.
If the design that needs to be sent to us is less than 300 dpi, DO NOT simply increase the resolution to 300 before sending. Send the art to us at the resolution it is, and EMBROIDERY & SCREEN PRINTING NETWORK will increase it to the desired level.

*While customer-supplied artwork can minimize or eliminate art charges, it does not guarantee this. Depending on the artwork supplied and the order specifics there still may be art charges. Art charges, if any will be part of the quotation.

If customer supplied artwork is not available EMBROIDERY & SCREEN PRINTING NETWORK'S talented ART DEPARTMENT can create artwork for all types of applications. In those cases where artwork is not available to the customer or is not in a suitable format, EMBROIDERY & SCREEN PRINTING NETWORK will do the necessary design work. The ART CHARGE is function of the complexity of the design and the amount of time required to create the artwork that is required. See the ART CHARGES section for general information.

Whether EMBROIDERY & SCREEN PRINTING NETWORK'S ART DEPARTMENT will be creating a design for screen printing, ASI or embroidery it is imperative that the customer supply detailed specifics of what the design should be.

DETAILED SPECIFICS OF THE DESIGN INCLUDE:
- a description of the image
- the # of colors in the design
- the image size, any lettering
- the font style of choice

Communicating this information can be done via E-MAIL or IN PERSON. Once our ART DEPARTMENT has a clear vision of the design requirements, an estimation of art charges can be given as part of the QUOTATION. Only when an order is placed will any design of the artwork take place.
